This is the big day. The day when the Jack in the Green is released, it’s the day the bikers come from all over to enjoy the town and it’s not surprising it has earned itself the nickname of ‘Mayday Mayhem’.
Before the Jack in the Green, the town is full of different events for people to get into the spirit of the tradition.
Whenever asking people participating in the celebrations about the tradition, the answer would always be: ‘it’s about releasing the spirit of the summer’, and would usually finish their sentence with: ‘Keith is the man to talk about that”.
